Eugene Barkar (Evgeny Barkar) is a scholar of religion specializing in the Anthropology of Religion and Early Christian History.

He holds an MA degree in Religious Studies from Saint Petersburg State University and an MTh in Biblical Studies from the University of Wales.

His academic interests encompass the problem of Religious and Ethnic Identity and Christian Origins.

He is a former researcher at the Museum of the History of Religion and a lecturer on several subjects related to Cultural Anthropology and Religious Studies.
